-Mark Walhbergwas supposed to be on one of the planes that hit the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001 but he ended up taking an earlier flight. And it's too bad.  Because if he was on that plane, the only casualties would have been the terrorists.  Yes, he really said it.

Check out what Marky Mark told "Men's Journal”, "If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn't have went down like it did. There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, 'OK, we're going to land somewhere safely.  Don't worry.'"

 

Marky Mark later apologized-

He said, "To suggest I would have done anything differently than the passengers on that plane was irresponsible.  To speculate about such a situation is ridiculous to begin with.I deeply apologize to the families of the victims that my answer came off as insensitive, it was certainly not my intention."

 

 

-Ryan Seacrest should fear not if producers cut his "American Idol" salary for next season, because we've learned Nigel Lythgoe has vowed to make up the difference out of his own pocket. There have been a few reports that producers may try to cut Ryan's paycheck estimated at $15 million for this season.  Nigel is telling people Ryan is "extremely important" to the show and doesn't know how it could work as well without him. Nigel says if production starts slashing, he'll start cashing to keep R.S. on board. 

 

 

-J Lo’s 24-year-old boyfriend Casper SmartTweeted a bunch of stuff yesterday about age not meaning anything. He said, "Age, status, n opinions of others are irrelevant.  Our hearts are endless and our souls infinite.Our ages are mere reminders of the hours logged on this earth and the precious time remaining. We should all honor our time here by indulging our passion and dreams.  So, close your ears and open your hearts;  Love and be happy!"J-Lo who's 42 re-Tweeted but didn't add to Casper's comments.

 

 

-So-called "sources" tell "Us Weekly"that Rhiannaand Chris Brown have been secretly hooking up for the past year. Supposedly, they meet up casually whenever she's in L.A.  One of the sources says, "They can't get enough of each other.  I don't see it ending well. Rihanna loves to live dangerously, and talking to and hooking up with Chris is all part of that."

February 8th will be the three-year anniversary of the vicious beating Chris delivered to Rihanna the night before the 2009 Grammys.

 

 

-Chris Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Patakyare expecting their first child.  Elsa is due in the spring, and they've decided to wait until the birth to find out the sex. Chris is the very sexy star of "Thor"and "The Avengers".  Elsa's credits include "Fast Five"and, most importantly, "SNAKES ON A PLANE"!  He's 28 and she's 35.

 

 

-The website AshleyMadison.com which is a place you go when you want to find someone to have an affair with has released the results of its annual Celebrity Hall Pass survey. They asked 25,000 subscribers which celebrity they'd nail if their spouse gave them permission.

The guys went straight for newly-single Katy Perry.  She was followed by Rihannaand Mila Kunis.

-The next "Bachelorette" will be Emily Maynard, who "won" "The Bachelor" last year.  Her engagement to Brad Womack did not last. There was talk that the producers wanted Emily for this past season of "The Bachelorette", but she wasn't into it because she didn't want to spend any more time away from her young daughter.

 

-For the first time in seven years, the Grammys will have an official host.

It's LL Cool J who's hosted the live Grammy nominations concert every year since 2008.  The last Grammy host was Queen Latifah in 2005. The Grammys will go down on Sunday, February 12th.

 

 

-That "Sex and the City" prequel is finally coming . . . to the CW.

They're developing a drama based on Candace Bushnell's"Sex and the City" prequel book series, "The Carrie Diaries".They're also working on a new version of "Beauty and the Beast" . . . specifically the late-'80s version that starred Ron Perlman . . . a.k.a. "Hellboy" . . . and "Terminator" minx Linda Hamilton. The "Hollywood Reporter" says the new "Beauty and the Beast" would have a "procedural twist."  (--Which makes sense because in the original series, Linda's character was an assistant D.A.) The CW announced one more series they're working on.  It's called "Arrow", and it's a "modern take" on the DC Comics character Green Arrow . . . whatever that means.  (--Green Arrow was also a frequent character on "Smallville".)There's no casting information yet.  If these shows are picked up . . . they could premiere next fall.

 

 

-The NFL playoffs and college football championships took the top four spots in the ratings last week.  The game between the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots easily topped the list with 34.2 million viewers.

ESPN's coverage of "The BCS Championship" game between LSU and Alabama had 24.2 million viewers in 2nd place.  And Sunday night's "Golden Globe Awards" was watched by 16.9 million viewers, which is a slight dip from last year.   Here are the Top 10 shows . . .

1.)  The "AFC Divisional Playoff" game between the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots, CBS,  34.2 million viewers  (--The Patriots won, 45 to 10.)

2.)  ESPN's coverage of "The BCS Championship" game between LSU and Alabama, 24.2 million viewers.  (--Alabama won, 21 to 0.)

3.)  The "NFL Playoff Postgame" show, Fox,  23.8 million viewers

4.)  "The BCS Championship Postgame" show, ESPN,  24.2 million viewers

5.)  "NCIS",  CBS,  21 million viewers

6.)  "The Golden Globe Awards",  NBC,  16.9 million viewers
