David Damms grew up in the Walden, Ellenville and Kerhonkson, areas and was widely known as nothing less than a happy, energetic young man. Always a loyal friend, he never wavered when anyone needed to lean on him, frequently taking in friends and offering support where he could. His hard work ethics and unfaltering belief in the priority of family earned him the respect of all who knew him. With his hard-headed, no BS attitude, David was often a peace-maker amongst those in his social circle. He was an avid outdoors-man and lover of anything with a motor. He could regularly be found visiting with friends and family, or organizing a get-together for those he loved.
In the late evening hours of August 17th, 2011 David Damms was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident on SR 52, just outside Ellenville, NY. He left behind countless devastated friends and family members; including a young daughter, Mia Natalie.
The David Damms Memorial Motorcycle Ride is a not-for-profit event focused on raising money for a trust in Mia's name.
The ride will incorporate multiple raffles, door prizes, and will conclude with a full BBQ at the final destination.
