Birders: The Central Park Effect

August 9th, 2013 -

Discover the extraordinary array of wild birds found in Manhattan's celebrated patch of green, and the equally colorful New Yorkers who schedule their lives around the rhythms of their migration. Author Jonathan Franzen, an idiosyncratic trombone technician, and a septuagenarian bird-tour leader are among the lively cast of characters in this charming, lyrical documentary that transports viewers to the hidden avian world of one of America's most famous parks. A Q&A with director Jeffery Kimball will follow the 60 minute film. The event takes place at the Cary Institute, 2801 Sharon Tpk. (Rte. 44), Millbrook, NY. Space is limited. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
