TMZ has posted some pictures that allegedly show Justin Bieber smoking pot in a California hotel room.  They were taken last Wednesday. A source says Justin's buddy, 19-year-old rapper Lil Twist, was there, too.  In fact, it was Twist and his brother who were rolling all the blunts. Justin hasn't copped to toking, but he did Tweet this after the pictures hit the web . . . quote, "Everyday growing and learning.  Trying to be better.  u get knocked down, u get up. "Back on tour tomorrow.  Ready to see u all smile.  Time to do what I'm supposed to be doing . . . performing." --In more positive news, Justin visited a 7-year-old leukemia patient Saturday, before a gig in Salt Lake City.

Justin Bieber is under the influence ... of a rapper named Lil Twist -- and the rapper may be leading JB down a dangerous path. Twist was with Bieber in a Newport Beach hotel room last week, where, we're told, the rapper was happily rolling blunts for J.B. and others. Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ ... JB and Twist have become tight ... and have been smoking together on a number of other occasionsYou'll recall ... Twist was speeding on the 405 Freeway New Year's Day in Justin's Ferrari when he was pulled over by cops.  A photog was killed trying to snap pics of the traffic stop.  Prior to the accident, Twist and Justin had spent much of the day in a room at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills -- where Justin frequently gets a room. Twist's Twitter profile pic makes it  clear ... he's a fan. FYI ... Lil Twist is signed by Lil Wayne and close knit with the Cash Money and Young Money crews.

Mariah Carey's ex-husband, record executive Tommy Mottola who she says was a "controlling" man who "mentally and emotionally" abused her during their four-year-marriage is speaking out. Mottola, who is 20 years Carey's senior and married her when she was just 23, is clearing the air in his new memoir "Hitmaker," saying he might have been demanding, but he's the reason for her worldwide success. "If it seemed like I was controlling, I apologize," he writes in his book, available on Jan. 15. "Was I obsessive? Yes. But that was also part of the reason for her success." According to the New York Post, Mottola, who divorced the mother of his two children to be with the singer in 1993, explains that because he didn't let Carey take a break early on in her career, she became a superstar. "My feeling was that there’d be plenty of time for Mariah to celebrate just a little ways down the road," the 63-year-old, now married to singer Thalia, writes. “I’m not talking 10 years, just a few. "But the music mogul is not taking full responsibility, adding that Carey's talent is untouched. "An unbelievable energy was running though me, screaming, ‘Turn the car around! That may be the best voice you’ve ever heard in your life,'" he reportedly writes of when he first listened to Carey's demo.

Liam Neeson, father of two teenage boys, says in an interview:

“I’d hate to be a kid now, because we’re all inundated with so much information about sexuality coming at us from everywhere – the media, the advertising billboards, just everywhere – and it must be so confusing for them. There’s a problem that, if you become over-familiar with something, it moves from the sacred to almost the profane. The act is very, very special, you know. It’s full of mystery and wonder, and I’d hate us all to get to the stage where we just treat it lightly, because it deserves more than that … but times have changed since I was young, no doubt about it.”
