The site SportsBusinessDaily.com is reporting that REGIS PHILBIN is in talks to host a show on the upcoming "Fox Sports 1" network.(--Fox Sports 1 is supposed to be a national, all-sports channel, which would compete against ESPN. It's expected to launch sometime this summer.) -There aren't many details yet . . . but supposedly, it would be like a sports-themed version of "The View", with Regis as a part-time host. In other words, he'd be in the BARBARA WALTERS role. There's no word who else may be on the panel.
ROBIN ROBERTS will return to "Good Morning America" on Wednesday, February 20th. That's five months to the day that she underwent her bone marrow transplant.Robin won't be full-time right away. The show says she'll be on an "abbreviated schedule" for the first few weeks so she can ease back into things. (--You can find video of the announcement on the show's website.)--"Good Morning America" has been sharing her progress on the show . . . and on Friday, February 22nd, ABC will re-tell her story in a special edition of "20/20".

Christopher Dorner sent CNN anchor Anderson Cooper a parcel, containing a note, a DVD, and a coin riddled with bullet holes -- so says Cooper.Cooper just tweeted about the package, saying he only learned today the package was sent to him.According to CNN, the package was delivered to Cooper's assistant on February 1st -- and contained a hand-labeled DVD with a sticky note that read "I never lied." Wolf Blitzer said the note appeared to refer to when Dorner was fired from the LAPD in 2008.
The coin -- reportedly given by the LAPD as a souvenir -- was riddled with bullet holes.
The 12-year-old boy who allegedly SWATTED Ashton Kutcher -- by reporting a fake gun battle inside the actor's home -- has been charged with several crimes in connection to the incident ... TMZ has learned. We broke the story ... cops raced to Ashton's L.A. home in October after the boy allegedly contacted police and said there were people in the residence with guns and explosives. The caller also said several people had been shot.When police arrived, they realized the whole thing was a prank -- there was never any real danger. Officials believe the boy also pulled a similar "swatting" prank on an L.A. bank later that month.The boy has been charged with two felony counts of making false bomb threats and two felony counts of computer intrusion. The boy -- whose name has not been released because he is a minor -- is set to be arraigned in Juvenile Court tomorrow
73-year-old Oscar-nominated actor James Cromwell was arrested this morning at the University of Wisconsin -- after bursting into a board meeting ... claiming the school tortures cats in the name of science.Cromwell was arrested with PETA spokesman Jeremy Beckham, who accompanied Cromwell on the protest ambush. The UW spokesperson said both men were taken to a nearby jail and are expected to be charged with disorderly conduct.
Celebs are saying "aloha" to the Steven Tyler Act.Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, along with a slew of stars including Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne, and Ozzy Osbourne and his family, have come out in support of a proposed bill by Hawaii legislators that aims to staunch rampant, intrusive and harassing paparazzi behavior.The state Senate Judiciary Committee will conduct a hearing today on the bill, which is indeed named after the legendary Aerosmith rocker, in Honolulu, and Tyler himself—who initiated the bill—is expected to attend. The proposed legislation aims to impose stricter penalties on paparazzi who harass celebs on the island. Among other provisions, it would enable stars to seek damages from photographers who intrude upon their privacy.The bill also expands its definition of privacy invasion to encompass not only physical trespassing but also the use of zoom lenses and sophisticated sound equipment to snag images or audio of celebs during their personal downtime.
