The team broadcasting the BET Awards managed to misspell Lionel Richie's name as Ritchie on Sunday night. To make matters worse, it was flashed on the screen in big letters as the soul legend was given a lifetime achievement gong at the event, which was being watched by millions in America and beyond.

The "BET Awards" went down last night, and there were celebrations all weekend.  There was also violence.  There were two pre-parties over the weekend.  At one of them a man was shot to death, and at another, a man was stabbed.  BET didn't sanction either event.  As for the show itself, Beyoncé was the big winner, with four awards.

Amy Adams gave up her first class airplane seat to a soldier on a flight from Detroit to L.A.  She tried to do it inconspicuously, but others saw what happened, so the story got out.  When the press contacted Amy she said, quote, "I didn't do it for attention for myself.  I did it for attention for the Troops."   

Several hours before being arrested for disrupting a Broadway revival of "Cabaret" this past Thursday, Shia LaBeouf was seen out on the street . . . chasing a homeless guy around for his hat.  He'd also been to two bars that day, and was yelling at a random woman who had no idea what was going on.

A company promoting a Black Sabbath concert in London accidentally sent out an email on Friday offering tickets for $4.25 . . . and thousands of people bought them.  The company says it will honor all of the tickets, even though some of them were supposed to sell for 500 bucks.

Gene Simmons of Kiss appeared to wet himself during a concert in Denver last Wednesday.  But according to him, it was just water he poured on himself.  He thinks the rumor is funny though . . . and tweeted that he might actually do it during a concert sometime.

Carrie Fisher’s daughter has joined the cast of the new "Star Wars" movie.  There's no word what part she's playing.

R&B singer Bobby Womack passed away.  He was 70.

"Transformers: Age of Extinction" had the best opening weekend of the year, earning $100 million in its first few days of release. 

According to a "Rolling Stone" readers' poll, the worst movie of the year so far is the new "Godzilla" remake, followed by "The Amazing Spider-Man 2", "A Million Ways to Die in the West", "Noah", and "I, Frankenstein".

ICE-T'S 19-year-old grandson is facing charges for involuntary manslaughter.  Last Tuesday, he was messing with a gun he owned when it went off, and the bullet hit his 19-year-old roommate.  He was also charged with reckless conduct and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
