Taylor Swift Makes History with Double Debuts at Number One
- Fans are really excited about Taylor Swift’s achievements with her latest album, “Folklore.” The surprise album has given Taylor her first single and album debut number one.
- Both Folklore and “Cardigan” have made it to the top of the chart during the same week and fans are celebrating the achievement as well as sharing their happiness that “Cardigan” is the first single that has gone number one and is a song that Swift owns.
- Taylor and her former label, Big Machine Records, had a big public blow out over her catalog that was sold to Scooter Braun. Swift’s album Lover and Folklore was released by Universal Music Group and the masters of those albums are the first to be owned by Taylor.
- The hashtag #ProudofTaylor trended on social media as the “Swifties” celebrated Taylor’s achievements. Taylor herself is pretty happy with her accomplishments too, she posted a gif of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson on Monday (August 3) with Billboard’s post about Taylor getting double number ones.
