- BTS made the announcement via their label, Big Hit Records, that the global group will be taking an extended period of rest. The group has been going nonstop since their last break in 2019, making sure to connect with fans and share new music throughout 2020 and 2021.
- The statement revealed that the break would be a time where the group would get, “a chance to get re-inspired and recharge with creative energy,” and it would be the first time since their debut, they would be able to spend the holiday season with their families.
- BTS is expected to return after the first of the year with a new album and a concert in March in Seoul.
