‘Abbott Elementary’ Has Had the Largest Viewer Percentage Growth for Any New Comedy on ABC

  • ABC’s Abbott Elementary is written, created and stars Quinta Brunson.
  • The series is based on some of the real life experiences of Quinta’s mother who worked in the Philadelphia school district for many years.
  • The show also stars Tyler James Williams (Everybody Hates Chris) and the legendary Sheryl Lee Ralph.
  • Since the pilot episode back in December the show has quadrupled its ratings making it a first in the history of the network.
  • The 30 minute weekly comedy is about a group of dedicated teachers and a slightly tone deaf principal who all work in a Philadelphia public school. Despite the odds against them they are determined to help their students succeed.
  • The show airs Tuesday night at 9pm EST on ABC.
