Katy Perry & Leah Marlene Team Up For Show-Stopping Performance Of “Firework” During ‘American Idol’ Finale 

  • The pop superstar and Top 3 Idol finalist performed “Firework,” the third single from Perry’s third studio album, Teenage Dream, in a show-stopping performance on Sunday evening’s finale.
  • Marlene had sung the song at the tender age of nine, a clip of her performing as a child was shown prior to Marlene coming to the stage with Perry. 
  • Katy had surprised Marlene with the special invite to perform the song. ”Listen, I only save that song for inaugural events and Leah Marlene,” Katy told the finalist. 
  • The finale show was a star-studded event with other artists coming to the stage to perform including, Carrie Underwood, Gabby Barrett, James Arthur, Sara Bareilles, Michael Bublé, Deana Carter, Earth, Wind & Fire, Melissa Etheridge, Flo Rida, Ben Platt, Thomas Rhett, and Tai Verdes.
