Bad Bunny Kicks Off Grammy Awards With Lively Puerto Rico Tribute

The reggaeton/Latin trap sensation Bad Bunny is the first artist to perform in Spanish and be nominated for album of the year.
He performed an upbeat set that included songs from his number-one album “Un Verano Sin Ti” to kick off this year’s Grammy awards.
The artist’s medley began with “El Apagón” (“The Blackout”), a passionate love letter to his native Puerto Rico. The lyrics of the song make reference to the ongoing problems with the island’s electricity grid left behind by Hurricane Maria.
Bunny then launched into a party song with merengue and mambo influences called “Después de la Playa,” also performed by El Conejo Malo.
