Lego Resale Store Opening in Valley Cottage, Providing Job Training for Those With Special Needs

Article by Skylar

A store compiled of about 80% recycled Lego products opened on March 28th in Valley Cottage. “Brick It Again” is run by the non-profit organization Jawonio. Jawonio strives to encourage and facilitate the independence and encourage the equality of those with special needs. This store provides an outstanding opportunity for those with special needs to be employed, while also learning skills that encourage independence, socialization and confidence. “Brick It Again” accepts Lego or Duplo kits, packages or individual pieces as they are, but request donors to notify staff of any missing pieces. Workers then wash, test out and examine the donations in order to use them for reselling (upon qualification), while also using the space to hold birthday parties and special events. If you have some extra Legos taking up space in your home, consider donating them to “Brick It Again” for a great cause.
