Ed Sheeran addressed the war in Gaza during his Loop Tour stop in Philadelphia, speaking publicly after controversy surrounding Macklemore’s removal from the tour.

Sheeran condemned the October 7 attack in Israel while also acknowledging the suffering and loss of civilian life in Gaza. The situation has drawn additional attention after several guest artists reportedly withdrew from Sheeran’s shows in support of Macklemore.

Despite the controversy, Ed’s message to the crowd focused on love, hope and unity, saying he wants his concerts to remain a place where people can come together through music.

Sheeran also said he’s exploring ways to help people affected by the conflict.
