Word has it that FROSTED TIPS are back in style. It may have started as a by-product of the buzz-and-bleach craze: Someone gets a buzz cut, bleaches it, and then, as it grows out, it becomes "frosted tips."
Fashion trends are cyclical . . . everything comes back around, both the cool stuff AND the not-so-cool stuff. This may be the latter but who are we to judge? If you've deleted this fashion "trend" from your brain, just picture Lance Bass or Just Timberlake's hair from back in the day. Or our very own Paulie Feva from when he first started at K104....yup that's me in the pic.
Apparently, Lance Bass has also been trailblazing in bringing it back. He went back to frosted tips last December. At the time, he said, "Get me a Walkman and some cargos, and it's like 1997 all over again." And well, we're here for it.
Frosted tips were once considered an "embarrassing relic" of the boy band-era. In fact, a few years back, "GQ" talked about how lucky Justin Timberlake was to have "survived" the trend. But will Paulie Feva survive the now online forever pic of him as a blonde?????
So you're asking yourself - how did it become cool again?
One report says it's emerging as a by-product of the buzz-and-bleach craze of the early-2020s: Someone gets a buzz cut . . . bleaches it . . . and then, as it grows out, it becomes "frosted tips." And even now as frosted tips are "cool" again, many people are just getting all-over bleach . . . and then leaning into a natural grow-out, as the weeks go by. It looks basically the same as it did 20-plus years ago, but today's version is slightly more unkempt . . . compared to the fresh-from-the-salon look back then.
They said everything old is new again so why not this? I could embrace it - I THINK ;)
