Taylor Swift has officially sent the Swifties back into detective mode!

Taylor announced that her brand-new single, “Patient Zero,” drops this Friday, September 25.

In true Taylor fashion, she teased the announcement first—replacing the letter “O” with zeroes on social media and putting a mysterious countdown on her website. When it hit zero, the title was finally revealed.

Now comes the fun part: What does “Patient Zero” mean?

Is it connected to The Life of a Showgirl? Is an expanded album coming? Or is Taylor already starting an entirely new era?
