Trick-Or-Treat OR Trunk-Or-Treat??

f you have kids of a certain age, this might not be shocking . . . but trick-or-treating may not be "cool" anymore.  Instead, the new hype is TRUNK-or-treating.  Which is basically HALLOWEEN TAILGATING.

TikTok is going viral where a guy seems appalled at the idea that his cousin doesn't want to go trick-or-treating . . . and instead, is excited about going trunk-or-treating at some parking lot. Trunk-or-treating has actually been around since the '90s . . . but it's become increasingly popular and widespread in recent years, post-Covid.  And some people argue that it has RETIRED trick-or-treating, at least in their area.

Of course, it depends where you live.  Some suburban neighborhoods still get decked out for Halloween, with a majority of the houses handing out candy. But in some super-urban and super-rural areas, it's less practical to go door to door, than to a festive event that's set up at a dedicated place.  Like a school parking lot, or a community park. And most areas do BOTH. Halloween has increasingly become a month-long holiday and not that i have any complaints about it BUT that's a lot of candy to stock up on.

And this can be exciting for kids, because a lot of the adults bring the vibes . . . elaborately decorating their vehicles, wearing costumes, and hosting Halloween games and contests. Of course, the SAVVIEST kids might figure out a way to do BOTH and score TWICE the sugary loot.  That's the "trick."

Has Halloween become bigger than Christmas???? Some might say yes.....
