Vinyl Record Sales Hit $1 Billion Last Year for the First Time Since 1983

Vinyl records hit the $1 billion mark in sales last year for the first time since 1983.  The eight variants of Taylor Swift's "The Life of a Showgirl" were a large part of that. People still buy vinyl!!

The comeback of vinyl records hit a new milestone in 2025.  The Recording Industry Association of America says it surpassed the $1 BILLION mark in sales last year, for the first time since 1983. This is pretty epic considering the trend of digital music formats. Swifties are partly to thank for this.  Taylor Swift's "The Life of a Showgirl" was the top-selling vinyl of 2025.  And that included EIGHT versions.  The "Kpop Demon Hunters" soundtrack was also a popular buy.

Vinyl was the most popular physical format.  46.8 million records were sold compared to 29.5 million CDs. Now can we bring back cassette tapes?

As a DJ who collects vinyl for many years and has no plans to stop - this makes me happy to see. What's your favorite vinyl record?
